My Mom

It's getting late and I'm so tired, but I had to take a minute and post this picture of me and my mom.  Today is the 15th anniversary of her death from Lou Gehrig's disease (aka ALS ).  I love this picture because that smile on her face shows the kind of person she was.  That's how I remember her, she was awesome!

And check out my snappy outfit!

That is a great smile. You have the same one.

And yes it is late but I think I am getting close to finishing my typing assignment.

Mike and the kids are sleeping on the trampoline (Confrence weekend tradition) but I think he fell asleep long before the kids because they kept coming in and buggging me with things like Larri has to go pee.

I remember that smile and I remember her laugh. I remember one time I was really mad at her because she called my mom to say that she saw me with a boy. I look back now and laugh about it 'cuz I'm a mom and I get it now. She was awesome AND SHE STILL IS! Who knows? She may be resting her foot in celestial dog poo right now . . . .

Celestial dog poo...hmmm, do you think it would smell gross?? Or have a celestial smell to it? I have to admit, I was way younger when I knew her but she always had the best laugh and smile! And seriously the funniest sense of humor. She made my mom smile a lot too. Did you ever hear about the blue wafers in Heaven? Can't remember if my mom and your mom talked about it or my mom had a dream about your mom after she passed away and your mom was telling her that they eat blue wafers....hmmmm....still! What's up with blue wafers in heaven? bring on the Big Macs I say!

Yes, your mom told me about the blue wafers and I joked about crystal Pepsi....remember that stuff?

Your mom must have been awesome to have such a wonderful daughter...and also to have dressed her so beautifully!
ALS sucks. You are one of two friends I have who've lost a parent to it. Rotten! People better watch out if they are going to be my friend.
Anyway, wonderful photo. Memories are good!
